I recently added CHDK to my Canon S90. Nothing I have will open the .crw files. I downloaded several raw conversion programs to my mac as well as picassa. Not a single one of them will recognize the files created in my S90. Is there some way I can check this out?

Can you tell me how you got the s90 to produce raw?
I use an s95 and installed the CHDK. Coulf get the firmware to show with the set and disp button, but the chdk k firmware loaded normally. Did a bad pixel test and got the dng file to choose. But the camera won't record CHDK raw. Can you or anyone else help? Thanks,

Enable "Save Raw [ ]" in the CHDK RAW parameters sub menu --> http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User_Manual#RAW_Parameters
Note: some cameras won't save a RAW image when the shutter button ist pressed too fast, so always let the camera focus first (half-press)...

Yes, thanks for your reply microfunguy , the s95 has native raw but it looks awful. Compared to the chdk raw out of my 100IS. I was wondering if the chdk raw would show more detail, bypassing the in raw built noise reduction. The 100IS files are superior to the s95 native, but native raw shooting is obviously faster. But not if the files look unsharp. Can you help? I got a brand new s95 with 253032001xxx serial number, so I installed the 100K version. Didn't get the s95 to show the firmware when holding the set button and pushing the disp then, after first starting up with the play button......

Thanks 50 times FE! The manual showed me to keep my finger from the func.set button. It toggles betwee raw and no raw shooting. So it works!!! Going to check the DNG right away.
mmmmh, unfortunately the chdk raw looks 99,99995 percent the same. Well, good to know.
Thanks again. Might use the other chdk features.

End conclusion: the s95 raw, native or CHDK is too overprocessed/ blotchy by Canon until iso 400. But must admit, iso 400 looks very good, so that's going to be the standard iso . Thanks all.
