Hello all. I have noticed one small bug on my A470 (firmware GM1.00E E18, Jan 8 2008, and running CHDK build 1253) :o


  • If you enter User Menu and press Func./Set button over Main Menu, the Main Menu window appears over the User Menu one and is difficult to read in such a small screen.
  • Could be nice to have text file window on the last opened directory and highlighted or selected that file
  • Disbale LCD Off function does not work. There is no way to switch off the LCD via software/script, but plugging a jack in the output socket. Only worked once with older build I do not remember and running a script that includes an option to switch off the display after n frames/shots (lua script by Fraser McCrossan; accurate intervalometer with power-saving and pre-focus, a really great contribution). :'(

I'm not sure I fully understand the issue.

Is this new to this build? If so how did it behave before?
Can you take a photo with another camera to show the problem.

Hello. It is not new to this brand new build, it happens since 0.9.9-8xx more or less. I am sorry but I cannot take a shot since I do not own another camera, but I'll try it with laptop's built-in webcam to show that of two windows display at a time; I have uploaded here: http://imgur.com/qeE0j

Thanks, I understand now. The menu code is not erasing the screen when you switch from user menu to main menu and if your user menu is larger you see some of the user menu left over.

This is pretty simple to fix - I will update the main code shortly so it should be in the next build on the autobuild server.

The text reader suggestion can be posted as a feature request here - http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?board=9.0.

Not sure about the LCD issue, this will probably need to be investigated by someone with access to the camera.

Hello. Phil, window trouble I posted is pretty fixed. I just forgot another bug I found with zooming during recording video; zooming in and out has no troubles when in the optical range, but when you zoom in further optical (using digital), you cannot go back to optical (zoom out).
