@dz.dice to lock shutter speed, iso, and apperture use self timer. This is how it works for me.

Well, i've indeed used the Alpha-Omega release for the Ixus 115 and it seems to have everything working! (Again, i will test the scripts and check back later! :) )

I read this post a little better and downloaded it and it gave surprising results..!

Yet some crashes occur, when i'm recording Full HD, the video crashes after 3 or 5 seconds depends on the scene, my guess here: Sensor buffer overflow? (not enough data transfer rate to card? (bitrate?))

EDIT: Pulled Video quality to 99 and checked: Superfine on quality override to acheive this.

Just guessing here...!

@Sinak look for hanulis's alpha-omega release (it's somewhere in the previous replys) try and run it.. i think you'll be surprised!

I think i can go to ISO up to 6400+ (maybe 12000) (it shows some difference when shooting same subject with same settings) but i can't really tell the diff from 6k and 12k!

And i've got some ASTONISHING 1/64000th pics! The way i measured this was by looking at the pictures without flash and see how much light would enter through the shutter... It seems to work.. and to freeze water everytime i open the drain :D.

Well, about changing the shutter speed to get better video smoothess or sharpness would also be a nice thing about chdk!

Since this camera has the ability to draw 240fps @ 320p... I would sacrifice 1080p to have 720p @ 120fps, is this (even theoretically) possible?

EDIT: I know shutter speed and fps are different things... sorry for not expressing that. :)  (my english is terrible..)

I have tested on hi ISO and found that its highest ISO is 5000, I got no further even if I try to set it to anything higher than that, from the exif it is saying 6400 or 12800, but indeed it is the same as 5000.

Hi folks!

I just bought my IXUS on Friday, so far I am happy with it, though I realized that there are some annoying limitations like the short length of video if recorded at HD quality which made me search for a solution. So I found this Internet-site/project.

It is really great that you guys are working on making this products better, I really appreciate it and would really be happy if Canon just showed the same kind of enthusiasm at supporting products even after end of sales.

So I wish the best for the modders of this nice small camera and hope for some really great product after having installed the final firmware when its done.

Keep up the good work folks!!

My camera has 101c, can I use the modified 101b firmware?

I have read the FAQ about "can CHDK damage my camera?"  but still my question,
a, is there any real chance that my camera gets damaged?
b, more importantly: if it gets damaged, will I notice it in time? Reason for asking this is that if it gets damaged, it should be during warranty period.

Maybe - maybe not.  Do you really think anyone can answer that question ?  If so, they could also predict the future and would likely be very rich already.  Sorry.

The Alpha-Omega build works only with 1.01b and 1.01c

I have Hanulis's build  running on my 101.c camera by using a 2GB card in place of the 4GB that I had problems with. (Thanks RueLue)

I like the quality of the DNG RAWs.  I like their tone, detail and colour and I think it is more than my imagination. There is much geometric distortion compared with the JPGs though.

I get lots of completely washed out overexposed photos, both dng and jpg.
Have others experienced this and how do you fix it?

I will try installing CHDK on the card a few more times to see if that is where the fault lies..

If it runs then it's installed, no point re-installing it. There's very little chance of a "bad" install working but somehow affecting behavior.

If the configuration file got messed up, resetting it by by deleting CHDK/CCHDK.CFG, or "misc->reset options to default" in the CHDK menu can fix problems.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
