I am using USB cable (+5V are applied and the camera should trigger). It works on my SD4000 and SD870, but not on this camera.
The USB remote code is common to all cameras except for the spot where the actual bit in the hardware for the USB status is defined.   If this is wrong then the USB remote code will not work.

Also, in the stable branch, parts of the code are dependent on the speed of the processor in the camera.  So the pulse width timing that might work on your older camera may need to be quicker on the newer ones.

I'm thinking of adding some better video features to CHDK. (shutter speed lock to avoid video flickering due to light metering for example), sacrificing the 1080p processing to get 720p @ 120fps.
This would be a really nice option. By the way, is it possible to override the time limits  with the original slow motion modes ?
Thanks
Michael

Where is this "stable" branch located? I've downloaded the build from the link in the first post, but it would not even start on my camera. The so called alpha omega build runs.

BTW, I was able to trigger the USB remote, but I can't figure out how to force it in burst mode. With my other cameras as long as I keep +5V ON the camera takes pictures 3 to 4 frames per second. Here, after enabling "burst" option in the "Remote" settings I am only getting one frame every 4 - 5 seconds. Please give me a hint how to configure this. Thanks.

Doesn't sound like the camera has been added to either autobuild server (yet). So what you have in an unreleased version from the porting thread.  If you see a "burst" option on the Remote menu then you are using something built on the dev version.

What other camera(s) did you try this on ?

If you mean the USB remote, I am using it on SD4000, SD870, SX200 and SX220.

You loaded the dev version of CHDK on all of them ?

The reason I ask is that there is no "Burst Mode" in the stable version's USB code (AFAIK).    And the version in the dev release simply does continuous "press_half",  wait for focus and exposure lock,  "press_full",  wait for picture to be written to SD card,  repeat.  So I would be very surprises if you get 3 to 4 frames per second  when that sequence is running.

No. I don't  know what "DEV VERSION" is. Each camera has it's own version I've downloaded from daily build server.

Elph100 does not have binary there, so I've installed so called "alpha omega" build (described in this thread). I don't know if this is what you are referring as dev version (so confusing). This "alpha omega" build has Remote Parameters section. In it, there is a menu Switch Type  with the following options: None, One Push, Two Push, CA-1 (not sure which one to select). There is also Control Mode with options: None, Normal, Quick, Burst, Bracket, Zoom, Video (also very confusing). I could NOT come up with combination that would work like when camera is continuous mode and you press and hold shutter release button. I am open to suggestions.

Yes - that's what I meant.   Your other cameras are using CHDK from the Stable branch.

Thank you- now I know exactly what you mean.   On your other cameras,  how do you accomplish this ?   I'm looking for the exact configuration of the USB remote menu screen.

For the IXUS115 you should be able to setup continuous mode the same way but set the remote switch mode to "One Push" and the Control mode to Normal.\

Thank you for the clarifications. On my other cameras I don't have these options in the Remote Parameters section, perhaps I am running older versions of CHDK. And knowing the trouble I encounter with these new options I am actually not eager to change the software on the other cameras, as long as they work well.

That's not what I meant.   I'm trying to understand how you configured those other cameras to work with a USB remote and shoot 4 frames per second.   Hence my question about what CHDK menu options you used.  Knowing that might help me change the new USB code for the better.
