The tutorials all seem to be for versions that have different files in the zip. This one only has a PS.FI2 and DISKBOOT.BIN and i dont know what to do with them. I have a 8GB SD Card and an ixus 115 hs.
You need to download any other full distribution  (try this)  and replace the PS.FI2 and DISKBOOT.BIN with the ones you have.  All the other files are common to all CHDK releases.

Please keep in mind, that there is no more development of THAT build (sources are lost).
Until someone else takes up the cause that is ...

... and a request to all:
please edit your "forum profile", so that your signature shows
  • your camera model,
  • firmware version,
  • used CHDK version
  • and possibly your CHDK user status (beginner, coder, ...)
Sorry .. reminds me of my first time on IRC in the early 1990's .... ASL was the first question in every forum.   Camera model is okay ... version is irrelevent in a sig ...  and used CHDK version probably changes way too often to make it a sig file item ... although I'm tempted to state I use the "AllBest Build" :)

I keen to get raw working on my ISUS 115HS version 1.01C.

In version no raw file is produced nor does the bad pixel process work.

1.00c - produces some output (but there seems to be some problem with its is format) "can't open RAW file, because of unknown format"

I have uploaded the firmware:  https://www.box.com/s/e73da34e30d367401b3c

Is there anyone who has the experience to work on this ?

regards

dnw

Are you saying that both the 1.00c and 1.01c version work on your camera ?

You probably need to study more about CHDK RAW.

This is probably the most common question people ask on this forum once they have succeeded in getting CHDK to load and run.   CHDK RAW files are not the same thing as the RAW or CR2 files produced on DSLDR and higher end P&S cameras.  They are simply a dump of the raw information directly from the camera sensor.   They contain no format or size information to tell a PC software package how to interpret the information they contain.

Having said that, some PC software packages can guess the layout on the sensor information in the file based on the file's size if the author of that package has been informed that a new CHDK port has been released  and told of the file format.
Until that happens, DNG format files contain the information necessary for PC software to interpret the image data so its best to use them.

Hi!

Update: Uploaded alpha #5 to box.net. It should fix bug with optical zoom in video on 1.01ab and camera crahsing while video recording on 1.01b (found and fixed another one wrong func address in movie_rec.c). Pls check this fixes.

Stay tuned!

John.

I can only see that you posted only the binaries in your BOX link. Is the source code online anywhere? Alpha5 was released way back in October. Did you give up, get bored or something?

The only feature I am really looking for is good DNG saving. Alpha 5 doesn't create the badpixel.bin. The Alpha&Omega build does, but the bad pixels are still in the DNG.

If the source code is somewhere in these 17 pages, someone just post it again, I skimmed through the posts, and havent seen it. I wish that it were on Github or something that people can test different things or something :)

You mean something like this : Modifying the CHDK Sources : Source Guide ?  It exists but its only useful if somebody actually submits the source in the first place.

Hi, coders!
I made more observations:
  • DNG, every second image: as Rogerio wrote: it is a copy of the previous image, sometimes with a clear color fault; but exif-data differ: they seem to belong to the original picture; the corresponding .jpg-file is the same previous image, but extremely "overexposed"; exif-data: same as with dng-file!!

Also the  DNG file suffers from a bad pin-cushion distortion, you can see from the attached pic the degree of adjustment to correct the pic.

This is normal. The camera does adjustment in software when making the jpeg. Raw (including DNG) is what the sensor captured, without adjustment.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I've rebuild the code for the IXUS115 from the last source I could find on this thread and converted for the new development trunk.  Here's links to the new builds :

100c > https://www.box.com/s/0f5399f871372fbb394d
101a> https://www.box.com/s/543e971a358dd715a1a1
101b> https://www.box.com/s/ab816917ffc5dac83c81

SD card lock booting method only - no firmware update method, sorry.

If I can get feedback from IXUS115 owners that these load and run, I'll submit to the autobuild with beta status.  Otherwise I'll recommend alpha status - not to be included in the autobuild.

I've attached the patch file for reference / documentation.

tried with the 101b-1.1.0-full

can get it to start, but sometimes it gives a false alert of low battery, even if I am putting a fully charged battery.

and I cannot see the CHDK menu displayed correctly, the menu seems to be splited into two menus.

thanks
