If you don't have enough data stream on the card you won't be able to record the movies the time you'd like, faster cards makes video work a treat, i've downsampled my video bitrate and it seem'd to work very nice...
I never tried the raw feature on the camera (nor to create the badpixel file).
[EDIT]
Just tried raw... not sure, but it seems to work perfectly... The preview seems "purple", but when i load the photo under lightroom... it seems to be perfect, I have no problems with the RAW function, it seems to create more than one raw... the settings i have:
- Save RAW: Yes
- Dark Frame Subtraction: Auto
- Only first Raw: De-selected
- RAW in Dir w/ JPEG: De-selected
- RAW File prefix: CRW
- RAW File Extention: .CR2
- RAW Subtract Prefix: SND_
- RAW Subtract Extension: .CR2
- RAW Develop: Never touched it
- Bad Pixel Removal: Average
- DNG Format: Selected
- DNG file extension: Selected
- Create badpixel.bin (created)
- RAW Buffer Cached: De-selected
[Edit end]
I use the alpha-omega version on my Ixus 117 wich is a variant of the Elph 100 aka Ixus 115.
I've had some issues with the alpha5 version and that's what made me go to the alpha-omega (works nice on my camera).
Hope i've helped somehow...
Ok, noob question here, is there a simpler way to port things out? I'm kind of stuck trying to port this, i've read some of your tutorials but I still don't understand where to start, how do you know wich function is what?
I'm thinking of adding some better video features to CHDK. (shutter speed lock to avoid video flickering due to light metering for example), sacrificing the 1080p processing to get 720p @ 120fps.
My problem: Where to start?? Which software you guys use? I'm not asking for a full "lecture" but some guidance...
Thanks.
