Hey! I selected shot.lua and set 0 seconds as delay, but every time I switched the camera off and on again it showed 2 sec. - now it remembers the 0 seconds.

RAW:
  • I don't need a badpixel.bin, but there are possibly some, who want it.
  • Oh - yes, it saves a DNG file beside the JPG, but only for the first shot, then there are only JPGs in the folder
  • open a DNG file - comes later
  • I changed DNG to vers.1.1, but still no badpixel.bin
    It now doesn't let me chose DNG vers.1.1 , but says "badpixel.bin missing". I need to switch DNG off, then i can select DNG vers.1.1; when I switch DNG on it asks me again. Producing of badpixel.bin seems to have the same problem as the scripts: first try after switching camera on: several seconds (~15 sec.) needed for the badpixel-process (2 shots). Second try needs only ~ 5 seconds and does only one shot. 6th or so try: nothing happens. When I press SET again, it is as if I'm in the normal screen: the scripts menu opens. all trys: no badpixel file
  • switch DNG and RAW off, chose interval.lua (5 sec. delay), switch camera off and on again. Go to record mode and start script: first shot takes ~15 seconds, second as usual, then it hangs. No RAW or DNG saved (but now, when I try to reproduce: also the first shot is normal
Sh... : "Please change accu"
O.k. - more comes later

@waterwingz:
For now I'm using alpha-omega and it is enough. If I can combine parts of the two builds it is even better. It's summer, sun is shining and sitting the whole time in front of a monitor is more punishment than fun. If there are new builds, I'll do more testing.

It will be good to know if the image is valid.

Okay - so it will only take two shots under script control ?  But you posted earlier today that the intervalometer script posted by siak works properly.  That means it takes more than two shots ?

What happens if you load CHDK and try to take five shots the normal way with the shutter button ?

A couple of questions about the RAW problem.

1) Is the saved RAW image valid ? (i.e. can you open it with something ?)   Alternatively,  can you open a DNG ?
2) Does DNG take one picture and hang too ?
3) With CHDK loaded but RAW disabled,  can you take a many pictures in a row (more than 5) ?
TIA

I can confirm than in normal use (not in script running mode)

1. The raw image is valid, both CRW and DNG. I use rawtherapee and digikam and they will open both. Darktable and Rawstudio will open the DNG but not the CRW.

2. Yes using DNG or CRW both cause the raw processing to stop after the first image, but you still get jpeg images. That is the camera does not stop working.

3. Yes.

It seems to be a valid image file: IrfanView loads and displays the image with the pin-cushion distortion. So this is actually the DNG file.

Shooting pics the normal way (by pressing the shutter button) is possible without restrictions.

Some scripts stop half way through, e.g. hdr, interval, motion. 1st start after boot = 2 shots, 2nd to 5th start = only 1 shot, 6th start = no shots (every-time I stopped the script after some time and restarted).
These standard scripts take as maximum 2 shots:
interval.lua
interval.bas
hdr.lua
hdr.bas
motion.lua
motion.bas

in contrast, siak's script, which uses a restricted command set, takes as much pictures as you want.

Last October, I wrote (http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6751.msg74465#msg74465):

* Scripts: the problem with them is, seemingly, connected to function calls, so
        as "IS_...", "GET_..." etc. ; 'easy' scripts, as e.g. shoot, lotto don't
        show problems, while hdr and interval stop halfway through (and cause
        further problems with starting of scripts).

+++ sorry, eieruhr aka eggtimer doesn't function, but countdown, input, metronom, stopwatch do it.

Text wrong (in the binary?):
Oh - when the default.bas changes the CHDK-language to german, it prints "CHDK Sprache auf deutsch geäert"
 - please change this to "CHDK-Sprache nach Deutsch geändert" The bold part is important, the rest is a thing of taste (for me, that sounds and reads better)

Thanks - that narrows things down a lot!

Very curious.  The default interval.bas script was written to be as simple as I could make it.  One obvious difference is that it uses the shoot command rather than
Code: [Select]
   press "shoot_half"
   sleep 800
   release "shoot_half"
so with a slight modification,  does this version of his script still work ?
Code: [Select]
rem Intervalometer Script for ELPH 100 HS (IXUS 115 HS) by siak
 @title Intervalometer Script
 @param a Number of Shots (0 is Inf)
 @default a 0
 @param b Interval (Minutes)
 @default b 0
 @param c Interval (Seconds)
 @default c 5
 @param d Interval (Minutes x10)
 @default d 0
 @param e Interval (Seconds x10)
 @default e 0
 @param f Auto focus (0 is Off)
 @default f 0
 n=0
 t=(b*600+c*10+d*60+e)*100
 if a<1 then let a=0
 if t<100 then let t=100
 if f=0 then goto "off" else goto "on"
 :on
   press "shoot_half"
   sleep 800
   release "shoot_half"
   set_aflock 1
 :off
   n=n+1
   if a=0 then print "Shot", n else print "Shot", n, "of", a
   shoot
   if n=a then end
   sleep t
   goto "off"

Wow.  Very interesting.  The change is trivial from a CHDK code perspective.  I need to do some digging to understand what this tells us.

Just found: there seems to be a problem with the shoot_half function: I realized, that the auto-focus in the script (of siak) didn't focus (neither set to "0" nor to "1"), and also not, when shooting without script. After switching the camera off and on again, all seems normal. But... it seems, that - in the script - only the first auto-focus really focuses. I'll try to reproduce it the next days. I have the impression, that there are some bugs, which don't show up regularly.
It's late here now. I'm done for today.

But... it seems, that - in the script - only the first auto-focus really focuses.
When that script starts,  focus is only set once at the start.  According to the code, it should not attempt to focus again while the script is running.

But are you saying that if you stop the script and restart it,  it does not focus the second time ?
