so now, adding manual focus and disabling 10 minutes limit for videos will make me happy :D.
I believe that you can work around both of these with scripting. For your video question : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Continuous_Video_Scripts
Not a great option - apparently Canon set that limit so that the camera could be imported with lower duty - HD movie cameras are taxed at a higher rate than regular cameras.  Fixing this is technically possible but you need to have the camera and a lot of time and skill.   See this thread :  http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6711.0    As far as manual focus,  you can experiment with the set_focus command in a script.  I don't believe anyone has tried using the cameras limited set of buttons to simulate full manual control though.

tl;dr > I won't be fixing this.

I have the camera, but I didn't get what to do. :-[  Can you explain that to this newbie? ::)
Thanks for the offer - we have a volunteer ( dnw ) working on it now so I'll spare you the pain.

Thank you waterwingz for your work on this. I'm new to CHDK and mainly wanted intervalometer functionality... with your 1.01a alpha11omega and siak's intrvlmtr.bas script, I finally have it! I haven't tested much else yet.

Thanks for the note.  Its good to hear somebody was able to load and get the 1.01a versionto run !  The 1.01b & 1.01c version is good too.

Now if somebody who downloaded the 1.00C version would post a note here that it runs,  we would be one step closer to an official release.

TIA !

the first try to make the badpixel.bin gave me an error message:
"badpixel.bin failed. Please try again." The next try was a success:
process ended normal, message "badpixel.bin created. bad pixel count:

This happend again (now with alpha11): one time it says "badpixel.bin
created. ...", one time "badpixel.bin failed. ..." (I deleted the file before trying to
create) but nothing in the settings were changed. I've tried this now several times, but couldn't find the rules for this behavior. Interestingly, there are every time 2 jpg-images created (also, if no badpixel.bin is created).

No, it's not.

Just be be clear: You should expect problems if you try to rename or delete a non-empty directory, or rename to a name that already exists, or rename a file to into a different directory. The exact nature of these "problems" likely depends on the camera OS.  Solution ? Don't do any of that.

None of this excludes the possibility of other bugs, specific to the port. Renaming a regular file in a given directory should work. Deleting a file or empty directory should work.  Renaming an empty directory should (probably ?) work. If any of these don't, that might indicate a bug in the port. OTOH, if you already did one of the "bad" things, you may have corrupted your filesystem.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

tried different shutter speed today, seems I cannot get past 1/1500, is it physical limitation or am I missing anything here?

@reyalp:
Thank you for your fast answer. As the ixus 115 port is still alpha there is no need to cry, if something goes wrong. For stable releases it seems to be better to deactivate critical actions.

It seems, I'm lucky, in spite of me trying all, what the menus offer.

The issues I mentioned apply to all versions of CHDK. I agree that the file browser should prevent these things.

If you can confirm a different problem, then that's probably a bug in the port. If so, please post the steps to reproduce it.

What I mean was is if you did
1) do something "bad" like try to remove a non-empty directory
2) do something that should be OK, like rename a file.
#1 might appear to work, or not crash, but then number #2 could encounter an error because the filesystem is corrupted. If there is some doubt, re-formatting the card would be a good idea.

Hello,
First of all, I want to thank you for the work of porting CHDK to the IXUS 115 HS. I installed the alpha 11 in my camera (firmware 101b), and all seems to work well, including saving DNG RAW. I didn’t test scripting yet.

One thing that bothers me is the way how the ‘ALT’ menu is activated – having to press 2 keys simultaneously is a pain with this particular camera, because the buttons are so small and flat – in fact, I have to use my fingernail to press the buttons!

If we could use a single key to activate the ALT, it would be great – perhaps, as others suggested, with a long press in the video key or the DISP Key.

Much obliged,
Mapril
