IXUS 115 HS / ELPH 100 HS request

Hi all,

I found that DNG is automatically disabled for burst mode. I was trying to shoot in burst mode, and even if I unchecked the "Disable RAW @ Burst", wanting it to save DNG, but the camera still save JPG only.

is there any override so that I can save DNG in burst mode? it will be good to have something like SRAW as in the EOS DSLR. most of my output to web album is set to 2000 X 1500, so a smaller DNG file saving is a very welcomed function (and I hope I can have more frames per second also).

Buried deep in the RAW code is a test that basically says "RAW/DNG is not enabled if camera is in SPORTS mode and CONTINUOUS drive mode is enabled".  There is no way around that without changing that code.

DNG and RAW are a pixel by pixel dump of the image sensor.  To be smaller, some sort of compression would need to happen and if you tried to do that with the ARM processor it would be incredibly slow.

I'm irritated: in play mode, alt mode, the down button switches raw on/off; in normal mode, the up-down buttons count "EV:" up/down (0-> -1,-2.../+1..+2); in the canon sys-menu I cannot use the up-down buttons; in image menu all is o.k.
I reset the configs and all was o.k. I tried the config from before with rev. 2066 and it was the same strange behavior. Anywhere in the settings I went wrong.

Edit: p.s. in the past, I often found the camera switched to raw mode when I couldn't remember to have it set. But I didn't observe this in the last weeks.
Edit2: Oh - just found: "EV:" - it's "Fast EV-Switch"; with popup, switch off is possible, with in-menu changing value, it's not possible to switch this off.
Edit3: It seems, I'm the victim of the fast toggle raw switch. Is there a way to deactivate this fast switch?

This post probably belongs in the UI 2.0 thread rather than here in the IXUS115 porting thread.

i thought CHDK would allow videos up to the 4gb-limit because of fat32, but my camera still stops at 9:59min in 720p/1080p quality. is there an option i didnt find or is there no override for the max. video length/filesize in CHDK for the Ixus115?
