Hello, all, I am a newbie and just bought 2 A490 with fireware 100E, can't return now. There is auto build for A490 F, not E, is there any way to update firmware from E to F, or convert the auto-build F version to E version?
While it is technically possible to change firmware versions of a Canon P&S camera, this only happens if Canon releases a firmware upgrade file. And unless there is a major bug to fix, they almost never do that.
Porting CHDK from one firmware version to another is relatively easy compare to creating CHDK for a new camera. However, it requires time, patience and some software skills. A tool exists to help with the process :
