Can only boot into CHDK once...

Can only boot into CHDK once...

Then I have to remove the card, switch the lock off, boot the camera once with the factory firmware, then switch the lock back on and I can get exactly ONE more boot into the CHDK firmware.  Having some issues with scripting also - but that's probably just my inexperience...

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, I formatted a second SD card, set it up with the same files - and it does the same thing.  One is a 1GB, hte other is a 4 GB formatted as a 2GB to avoid having to create two partitions.

What does it do when you try to boot it for the the second time?

Incidentally,  you can format a 4G card as a single FAT16 4G partition.  You don't need to create multiple partitions unless the card is 8G or larger.

It doesn't boot at all.  The power button does nothing.  Quite annoying.

And I know I am supposed to be able to format the 4GB card with a single partition - but the sdminste.exe program will not cooperate...

I should have asked this right away - what camera are you using ?   Your original post signature line says A1200 but a quick search of the forum and wiki says there is no port even started for that camera.

If its for a different camera,  then posting in the porting thread for that camera is more likely to get you a response than starting your own thread.

Update : I have used sdminste.exe many times to format 4G cards.  It works fine - you are probably missing a step in the process.

Thanks for the tip about the "porting thread" - the next to last post contained a zip file with a new DISKBOOT.BIN - CHDK is working for me now.  Boots everytime...

The fix for the A1100 on/off button problem is now in the SVN code repository so the latest version on the autobuild server will work ok.
