Is the rule about needing 15 seconds between search requests on this forum new with v2 ? 

I don't remember hitting that limit before.  Figuring out good search terms that filter to the subject you actually want on the forum is a challenge.   Trying to do that with a minimum of 15 second between search request limit makes it also frustrating.

I suppose it has something to do with defeating spammers but if not can it be changed to 5 seconds ?

Hi, that was me. It wasn't because of spammers, but because of queries generated by the board. 

This was what caused the last offline time of the board and I am trying to preventing this from happening again. that said I applied several query optimizations, and this was one of them.

I'll lower it to 7 seconds and see how it goes.

Ps: I am also thinking of changing the search engine to google, but before that I will probably move to a new host...

edit: queries = total queries per hour or  queries within a short period of time

Thanks ac7 -  I expect most of us support board up-time over search speed.  Good to know why - seven seconds should be fine if that helps uptime.
