Flash button no longer works

Hi
Having installed CHDK on my G11 - Ive found that I can no longer set the flash on except thru CHDK - even when I use a virgin SD without CHDK on.

The button works for normal menu navigation but whilst i can use the other 3 buttons to select Manual focus, Macro or self timer functions, nothing happens when I try to select Flash settings.

I have reset the camera back to default settings but otherwise don't have an idea of what else to try.

Any advice greatfuly received.

Nick

Have you been using an external flash?
The camera flash is disabled if there is a flash mounted in the hot-shoe.

I've heard of problems like this if the switch gets stuck in the hot-shoe and the camera thinks there's a flash mounted.

Phil.

Spot on. Thank you Phil.
I had a bubble level in the hot shoe which I hadn't thought of as interfering as its plastic but once removed all is as it should be.
Thanks again
