Just realized that hook_raw_size is found by the automatic signature finder (stubs_entry.S).  I have updated the lib.c file and it should now be complete.
Hi sgtrum,
I've updated both the release-1_0 branch and the trunk with this. If you post in http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=650.615 it's less likely to slip through the cracks. A patch is preferred, but if you do post files, please post which branch they are from.

Tried out the superfine override today and don't think it is working for this camera.  I am not familiar with using this override, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get the image size to be any bigger than the fine size.

You mean the filesize or the dimensions ? Superfine should increase the filesize (assuming you are shooting a similar scene,) but not the image dimensions. In my experience, it has very little effect on visible quality, which is probably why Canon removed it.

Hi Reyalp,
I mean the file size.  I agree that the difference between fine and superfine is not easy to detect.  It mainly involves the color sampling in the jpeg compression.  For me I want the highest color fidelity so wish I had superfine.  Raw would be even better, but last I checked raw is not working either for this camera.

The SX40 is the same, superfine can be enabled; but results in a file that is the same size as the fine option.
I suspect Canon has adjusted the compression settings so both options give the same result.
I disabled the superfine override on the SX40 port because of this.

Raw would be even better, but last I checked raw is not working either for this camera.
Raw may be working in the latest autobuild (1581 or later). Please check.

Can you elaborate on "not working" ?

Enable save raw.  Take picture.
LCD blanks for brief time (I think too brief) and there are 2- 3 blinks of the led.
No raw appears in the directory.  Number of raws does not change in shooting display.

Can you elaborate on "not working" ?

Try the attached test version.

Phil.

Update: replaced the attachment. Previous version was missing the changes added earlier by reyalp.
