Hi,

I have a ported version of CHDK that I would like to share with the community.  This version works for the Canon a3300 IS Powershot camera.

This is only the binary you put on the disk in the camera, I want to share the sources too, but turns out the zip is too big to share here.  Where can I put it?

If you have any questions, let me know.

Best,
Hipow

Are you just zipping the platform/a3300 and loader/a3300 directories ?  I'm assuming the only other change you need to make is in the core/kbd.c and makefiles ?  That should not be too large - especially if you delete the primary.bin file - its not needed after the first time you build.

In any case,  post it to somewhere like box.com and put the link here.  (its free).

Also, if you can make an svn patch file,  that's even better.  Try TortoiseSVN if you are using Windows.

Hi Waterwingz,

I found some big files which were indeed unneeded.  I've managed to reduce it to 6mb.

You can download it here: http://www.box.com/s/ydolt7cxbv5f5nsgz38k

Let me know if there's any questions on this port.

Best,
Hipow

Hi, just in case you haven't read this forum, I already ported the 100D version of this cam and have it on this forum, have you added anything new from mine?

Hi,

I haven't really looked at your port, so I don't know if I added something new in comparison to what already existed.

Ok kool, well, mine seems to be complete, everything seems to work just dandy and colors are set up nicely now, even make use of the face button to open menu, don't really see anything that needs improving thats why I asked. If your just doing it just to do it, then best of luck to you. 8]

I just bought a new A3300 IS camera.  I've been using CHDK on my SD1000 for years, however I'm having a little trouble getting things to work with my new camera.

I verified I have firmware 1.00d and prepped the card and downloaded the appropriate CHDK file.  When I turn on the camera, I get the splash screen saying CHDK is loaded and then the no image screen.  I press the shutter halfway and the camera screen comes up with CHDK overlay.

How do I get the CHDK menu to load?  It seems no matter what I try I get the default camera menu.

Thanks,

Curtis

you should be able to get into ALT mode by pressing the SET + DISP buttons at the same time.

if u got the latest version i uploaded you use the face button now to get the alt menu, much better then using the set + disp if you dont like the face button then download the version before my last upload.
