I at least got an orange logo now and see the firmware, time and date inside the lower part of logo, before it was black white and grey with no text that could see, it only shows for a second though and i cant bring it up with button presses or anything else with button presses.

makes me wonder if my keys are even doing anything with chdk.

Did you update the keymap values at the top ?

my cam like the a2200 does not have a print button, how do i know the mapping for this one?
{ 1, KEY_PRINT           ,0x000C0000 }, // Doesn't exist, DISP + SET for ALT menu

he left it there so i guess it does something?

Kinda strange, why would that garbled data on screen not appear anymore after setting the key maps, I cant make it do it or it dont flick on and off anymore either?

I used the key maps that were detected in the stubs file

Ok, just to clarify, should I have a working chdk before I even touch the cap and movie files?

If so, where is the best plave to place the led code to debug my buttons to make sure there even working in the code?

The LED goes on each time the kbd task is run. If nothing else turns it off, it will stay on.   It has no idea if you pressed a key or not.

It 2 AM here - I'm outta here.  Good luck.
