Hi PhyrePhox.
I tried it yesterday. Good job, it seems like a finished product to me. The space bar is more than a simple addition to CHDK. In my case it allows me to stop using the detailed screen (the one that shows compression mode, wind stop mode, red eye reduction and other usually useless information). The only reason I was using it was to have an idea of the remaining space, but I'm free now! A much cleaner screen!

I've thinking since you proposed this: The red warning shows up when you've got only 2 or 3 shots to go. This is a problem when taking a burst of photos of a beautiful lifeguard when she is running on the beach (yeah, sure!), the warning comes too late. Wouldn't it be nice if it appears when you can still take 15 or 20 shots? That way you can decide if you can make it with the last 20 or you should change cards BEFORE the girl starts running. Also they say you shouldn't fill a memory card, they say you should change it before it is completely full. May be a yellow warning when 20 shots left and the red one like it is.

i'm gonna make it a pixel thinner as it is right now, because (i hope) that would prevent the flickering (as of now when you push the bar to the bottom, a part of it flickers because the canon counter is drawn over it)

A pixel thinner would be good, then the horizontal bar will not "touch" the other icons at the bottom

i havent cleaned the diff file, sorry. ignore the stubs stuff
When I execute svn diff > File.diff I don't get the changes in those stubs_auto.S files. Only in .c and .h. files It is the first time a use "subversion", not familiar whit this, not big deal.

thanks for all your input & help by the way
Ah!, don't mention it. This is the aim of this forum.

I've still not taken anything on that strange looking spot on the dial with the green splotch
Mmm, I had to use it months ago when I handed the camera to someone to take my picture in an ice sculpture exhibition. It was one of those "get in get out" where they push people like cattle. No time to teach the person to use at least TV.

I think the full size bar should be the full height or width of the display
That is also my opinion. Although I'm already married with the 1/4 version.

"I think auto modes are the devil's spawn and I had them exorcised from my camera."
95% of the camera owners use exclusively the auto mode. If Canon removes it, they will have to declare bankrupt in less than a month.
On the other hand it would be nice if they shipped the camera with an interchangeable spare dial without the auto mode label. That alternative dial would just "jump" to the next option.

i didnt get comments regarding the clock yet
The clock is a nice addition. Especially because I don't use a watch anymore. I think the 12/24 option would be useful. And may be the day too. SU, MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA.

Something odd. I noticed when first booting up that this build defaulted to using the [Shortcut] key to enter <ALT> mode...
Let me see tonight if I can reproduce the problem.

Hey? Who added the units change counter in my display?
I declare myself innocent. Jucifer perhaps?

Would be possible!
About the number appearing on top left:dont know who did it,must be from official trunk.
About the cfg stuff barney:the latest s3 build was build against latest revision from trunk,that will cause the problem.you can avoid it by changing or switching the cfg when you switch the chdk build.
Thanks for your input.will post latest code and builds on monday or so.

long story short:
zSHARE - enhancements_rc1_allbuilds.zip
Quote
- Wontollas Disk Space Icon
- horizontal/vertical Space Bar
- Setting of Size of Space Bar (now real fullscreen without safety pixel substractions)
- OSD Clock now with Seconds (toggable)
- in record mode, when you half-press shootbutton, now most icons (battery,filespace,raw status...) disappear
- updated english & german.lang file
New:
- width/height of spacebar now toggable (between about 7 ("canvas" is about 6 pixels, so the actual minimum information bar can be set to ONE pixel, almost too small) pixels and 17 pixels, check it out)
- New Warning tresholds introduced, you can choose between treshold in MB and Percent.

Quote
Example: You can set it so that Space Icon will turn red when free_space under 100 MB. Or you can set it so that Space Icon will turn red when freespace under 10% - setting applies to all space related texts/icons.

- New RAW Counter treshold, you can set it so that the RAW counter blinks when for example under 10. Previous setting was hardcoded to 1. Also changed: No "Warning" String anymore, just blinking between warning color and OSD color.
- Raw Counter now enabled by default
- new get statements available in ubasic: get_disk_size & get_free_disk_space - returns values in KB. you can build scripts now which stop when specific disk limit exceeded, for example.Divide by 1024 to have an "easier" calculation. This is my first fiddling around with ubasic, please test thoroughly.

Built against #320. Get it while it's hot :D
as always: ugly code, i am relying on your advisories, tips & tricks to clean my code.

question: as you may have seen in my diff file, i also wanted to make raw & jpeg counter accessible in ubasic, but compilation throws error because of atoi in wrappers.c. what can i do about it?
Code: (c) [Select]
unsigned int GetJpgCount(void){

 return atoi(camera_jpeg_count_str());

}

unsigned int GetRawCount(void){
 return GetFreeCardSpaceKb()/((hook_raw_size() / 1024)+GetFreeCardSpaceKb()/GetJpgCount());

}

comments, suggestions, warning, bashings - welcome.

oh and another small question to the people who code for chdk but dont have write access to official trunk: how do you handle your code at home? have a local svn, but its always such a pain in the A$$ to make a diff vs. official trunk and merge when there is a new revision... any hints?

edit: noticed small glitch in vertical spacebar, will be cleaned in future release
about the 12/24 hour clock: i guess it can be done. right now you guys see the 24 hour clock i guess? just want to make sure this doesnt have anything to do with the language setting in canon menu.
