Camera most suitable for time lapse.

Hello

I have an Isux 55 and have already found it a bit limiting, so looked at what others have been using on other forums.  The SX130SI seems to have all that I want ATM but it seems to have well documented lens issues.

So without breaking the bank what else should I consider? It needs to be able to take a larger size SD card, have a manual setting so I can tamper with Tv with a good time lapses script.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

A local store has the SX130SI for less than £100 new.

Whist it's not a massive amount of money it is if it's going to suffer from the E18 lens fault.

Just how much of a problem is this and would Canon kow it's been used with CDHK as I see from reading that it can happen with firmware.

The E18 fault apparently happens - but so do airplane crashes and lightening strikes.  I personally would not worry about it.  I've had lens errors on my SD940 and several Nikon P&S cameras.  The sx130 is not unique.

FWIW, there is no documented evidence that the E18 faults happen more or less for CHDK users.  CHDK does not modify or change Canon firmware.

Thanks waterwingz.  I am  now the proud owner of an SX130SI with CHDK loaded and working.

I just need to start playing.  Cheers for the help so far  :D
