I have just loaded one of my 720is's with allbest 34, I was workng through the menu scripts just seeing what each had to offer, must have altered something 'cos the cam switched itself off.  Switched it back on the OSD comes up with ***AUTOSTART***  in the bottom left corner, waits a few seconds then switches itself off. Batteries are OK but swapped them anyway but still no joy getting passed ***AUTOSTART*** NO controls work and the lens is stuck out. I have since taken the SD card out and the cam seems to work OK . Put card back in and back to ***AUTOSTART*** situation.  Grateful for any assistance. 01:03 a.m.  here have to go to bed in 10 mins but will be back at 07:00

Looks like you've activated 'script autostart'.
Please try starting up in review, NOT shooting mode, then press <Alt>, then Menu
Now you should be back in the menu. De-activate script autostart:
'Scripting Parameters' -> 'Autostart'

Thanks for your advice but I got so frustrated I purged the SD and reloaded it all again. Without your timely advice I would have probobly made the same mistake again. Thanks for your advice I'm sure it will be of some use to someone else. I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one to make this mistake   ::)
