Do you mean to put "BOOTDKISK" string in MBR in apropriate offset? I've found this solution somewhere on Magic Lantern wiki but seems to be not working for my sx130is. Or I did something wrong. Unfortunetly having no windows I can't use SDM installer to prepare my SD with.

I'm dealing with two partitions method having no problems (and using no windows I don't have to replace partitions each time). Nevertheless if sx130is can manage >4GB FAT32 partitions bootable I would be appreciated to know the proper way to do so...

No - FAT32 booting only works on cameras released this year.   Your sx130 unfortunately does not qualify.

Thank you for the reference and fast answer:) I bought my camera a half of year too fast (otherwise I would probably buy newer model)...

@Outslider - you say you have no Windows. My SDMInst app (http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/clickpansdm/sdminst.html) runs on Macs and does the same job as the Windows installer. I'm currrently working on a Linux version - would you be interested in testing it?

I run Ubuntu (using VMWare Fusion on my Mac) and I'll need testers running it and other Linux flavours natively.

I can test it;) Although my SD is well-fromated and I don't need now to touch it, but if it'll be helpful for you - no problem! Ubuntu 11.04 natively. VM Ware supports SD cards? Virtual Box does not, which is a problem.

Yes - VMWare does.  I used it for a while under Fedora - made a VM out of my Win7 paritition and then did CHDK development using CHDK-Shell in a VM.   The SD card part works really well.

I made my Win7 VM directly from a running copy of Win7 using VMware-Converter.  However Win7 running under the VM would decide after 45 days that it was "not an authorized copy" even though it was running on the same iron and disk.  So I had to recreate the VM image every 6 weeks - that got tiring so I eventually gave up and went back to dual-booting.    I suppose I could have reversed the process and run my Fedora partition under Win7, but that felt like treason.
