Help I am a new CHDK user , I have looked through beginers info but not found an answer to my problem/
I seem to have loaded CHDK 099 14 20 succesfully . I have downloaded and installed all relevent Canon RAW editing+Microsoft add on . but I can not open to edit the downloaded file . The Files are of the correct size approx 15 meg and have CRW filenames , but I cannot see/ edit these files. what am I doing wrong please
Any tips appreciated

CHDK RAW is not a standard format.  In fact,  its not any format - its just a raw dump of the sensor data.  So standard software tools usually will not be able to read it.   Convert the RAW to DNG by selecting DNG in the CHDK RAW menus.  The DNG format is compatible with most software.

Hi thanks , so CHDK raw Is different from Canon's Raw?This was not perviously clear! Does the DNG format still have the RAW 's advantage in that nothing is degraded in editing "ie rotating" ?

Thanks , I followed one of your links to find that Google Piccaso seem to enable editing.

I ,probably like a lot of new users find all this different format thing a bit confusing and daunting
