As promised attached is the progress I've made with adding support for the camera to CHDK. Baselined with 1521 trunk. RAW works, but I am unable to create the badpixel.bin file, after the second photo is taken it errors out. Creating a blank badpixel.bin file allows me to create the DNG file to verify that RAW is working.

Nevermind, I can in fact create the badbixel file...didn't test it out after the updates today. So yea, looks like things are still progressing.

Let's hope 2012 brings more progress  :D

I seem to be having issues with getting the focus_len_table location using the finsig_dryos program. I've attached my platform_camera.h file with the updated CAM_DNG_LENS_INFO values.

finsig_dryos is able to find the smaller value (min_focus_len) but is unable to find the corresponding max_focus_len.

The attached version of finsig_dryos.c should work better.

I've updated the movie_rec.c file and now I think the port is ready to be released as an ALPHA...still need to do better testing of the code to verify all functionality is up to par.

So far RAW/DNG creation works, with the fisheye distortion as expected. I've testing some different shutter speeds to verify the override function, but haven't determined the max/min shutter speed the camera can support (Tested 30s on the slow end and it seemed to work but didn't take a good look at the output).

Don't know the proper channels to get the code into the trunk, but I've attached the code I've worked on baselined with V1535

Submitted a patch to have the code added to the repository as an ALPHA, but not autobuild.

I have tried to dump firmware 100a from my IXUS 230.

Hope that someone will be able to port it without too many efforts.

It is not clear to me if I should upgrade camera to 100b and then install the related CHDK.

Did you try if CHDK for 100b firmware is already working for your 100a firmware. Sometimes it works for different firmware versions without additional changes.

If it is not working on 100a someone has to port it for 100a firmware as well.

It looks like the camera doesn't work with 100b CHDK. But I'm confused since I have the Stereo Data Maker on my Powershot 650IS and files structure seems different to me. I'm little lost in the procedure to get a correct CHDK on my IXUS 230 SD card

Then someone (maybe you?) has to start porting for 100a firmware.

Porting to another firmware version for the same camera should be much easier then porting for a new camera.

For this you could use CHDK-PT (http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6367) to get quick results.
