This is the firmware I compiled, it should work on your version.
I don't know how to get the code in an official repository or something.

So all I have to do is put your "DISCBOOT.BIN" file together with the files from the "100b" and it should work properly?

Thanks in advance.

So I have firmware 100a. I have downloaded the 100b firmware dump. Can I upgrade my firmware to 100b so I can use CHDK?

Thanks

No, the only way to upgrade is if Canon has issued an official firmware update. They usually do not.

Hello all!
My 230HS, after a "holiday" at Canon service centre, now has a 100e FW, but no way to have CHDK working too. No display, no blinker, totally freezing when trying to start CHDK in"firmware" mode. Only battery removal can unfreeze it. :( :( :(

Unfortunately I have not skill to port CHDK, but I would kindly ask those one that have it to be more exaustive when explaying things to rookies. For example, is it correct this statement:

"So all I have to do is put your "DISCBOOT.BIN" file together with the files from the "100b" and it should work properly?"

Or do we need more files (i.e. a specific .IE2 file for 100e)? If this is the case, why only the .BIN has been posted?

Thank you

Yes.   Except its "DISKBOOT.BIN"

Ok, thank you waterwingz.

Since I am not so unskilled to be unable to do what you say (I mean swap DISCBOOT.BIN) , and my camera still doesn't react,  (it's so frustrating...I really want manual override!), I'm afraid I have to wait for at least a 100e alpha...
So, please, someone could make it as soon as possible?

By "doesn't react" do you mean the camera just loads normally, showing "card locked" ? Or do you mean that it just has a black screen and doesn't start at all ?

The DISKBOOT.BIN (that's K not C btw) will be loaded if you have everything set up correctly. If it's the wrong one, then the camera will not boot (second case above) and you will probably need to take the battery out to get it to work again.
