I just recently discovered this website and don't have experience with updating firmware on cameras. I follow the instructions as posted, however I can't get my A560 v.1.00a to start up in play mode. Every time the camera shuts off it reverts back to record mode and I can't see the firmware update button.
I know that their is another way to do the update because I accidentally did it while randomly hitting buttons. The update worked that time but I haven't since been able to figure what I did nor can i find any info on canon's site. The only thing I found on canon's site is that the A560 is, indeed, supposed to revert back to record mode after power cycling so it stands to reason that they have built in another option for activating the 'update firmware' button.
any help would be greatly appreciated as I am looking forward to using the scripting feature once It is up and running.
