Noise Issue with SD1000

Whenever I take pictures as raw on my SD1000 they looks more worse then the JPG.

I'm using "DNG For PowerShot 1.1.4" to convert it to DNG.  And Photoshop CS3 Extended to edit it.

Here are the JPG and CRW images, if you don't have the problem, please tell me what/how I can fix it.

Here is a small sample image to show what I'm talking about:  (Zoomed in 600%)

I tried out "RAW Therapee" and used some noise reduction on it

And look at the difference

I tried doing the noise reduce on my JPG and it still looks better (not shown in picture)

I'll keep messing with it.

Is it possible to "sample" the noise so it knows what to remove?

Kinda like the Sample Noise option in Adobe Soundbooth:

Yes .CRW isn't read, but DNG is indeed, assuming that plugins are installed.

Is there anyone else who only switched to irfanview because of the well-done BLACK BACKGROUND and found the cool features
just because of that.

Don't forget to give your T-key a run!

Another quick question.

If I edit it in "Raw Therapee" and output it as a 16bit TIFF file.
Will it still have some of the extra "super white" data if I take it into photoshop and finish the editing in there?

I know there has gotta be something more I can do with RAW, cause it takes a really long time to edit the RAWs perfectly.

Here is the same picture.  One I edited the RAW, and the other I edited the same as JPG.

RAW  vs JPG

I tried my best to keep the color/brightness/contrast the same on them.
(If you wondering, thats my Mom)
