Barney Fife thanks for your help. All the information on the web site can be a bit overwhelming. I have an oscilloscope. I will play around with 555 timings and post my results so they can be replicated.

I live in Perth, Australia. The radio remote doorbells have about an 8 second audio output. The drive is too low to drive and activate the USB camera. The drive is enough to drive a 555 timer circuit. The timings can be divided with a rotary switch for user defined operations.

The software aspect I do not understand. How hard is it to learn from scratch?
