My logic is that if the 7d can do double the fps at full resolution, (8 vs 4, presumably because it has TWO digic 4 processors), than can we marry 6 of the processors to get 24fps video at an insane 5k+ resolution for a fraction of the cost of the Epic?

I know the file sizes would be huge, I guess as long as we're dreaming can we hook up an SSD to it?


Is any of this possible?  Sorry if repost.

Nice dream    :D
But
- the sensor most probably isn't capable of that HUGE data rate (if you meant using one)
- we know almost nothing about the DIGIC (no public documentation)
- neither do we know the details of the electronics used
- we barely know anything about the firmware, not to mention the OS they're using (no public doc.)
- this would require a completely rewritten firmware
etc...
