Hi I am new to CHDK, I got recently my new camera SX40 hs
I have following questions:
1. Can I use 8/16 GB card (As in newbie section its mentioned that CHDK works on only <4gb)

2.Which class of SDHC card should I buy for HD video and raw shooting

If you already used CHDK with Powershot SX40 hs please share your experience.

Appreciate your valuable comments.
Thanks,

You will need to use 2 partitions when using SD cards larger than 4Gb. Have a look around, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of methods and tutorials on how to do this.

I suggest at least getting a class 6 card for video.

thanks., I have ordered Transcend 16gb SDHC class 10.  :)
I think it would be better if partitioning nor required.  8)

No longer true for recent cameras

The sx40 is a 2011 camera - you do not need to partition cards larger than 4G with 2011 and newer cameras  In fact, it may not work if you do so - the dual partition support is typically left out of the CHDK code for those models.
Ported :   A1200    SD940   G10    Powershot N    G16

Interesting! Didn't know that.

Which models are considered as 'recent' models? I only managed to get CHDK working on my G12 using the dual partition method.

Cameras released in/after 2011 with DryOS Rev #47 or higher can boot from FAT32 partitions
