waterwingz, thanks for the port.sometimes does not save in RAW, even though there is a copy in JPEG

It might also need the 'PAUSE_FOR_FILE_COUNTER' value defined in capt_seq.c (see IXUS 310 & SX40HS).

On the cameras that need this it was found that the same filename was sometimes being used because the file counter had not been incremented. So it looked like RAW files were missing.

If this is the problem then when you compare the RAW and JPEG images you would see that they don't match - the RAW might actually be from the previous or next JPEG.

Phil.

1.00B beta 1 -- thanks!

I did not have missing raws, even with mindlessly playing with the options.

Now I have 6 jpegs and 6 cr2. How do I open the cr2? photomechanic and PS CS5.1 is not opening them. Are these CR2 or dng or what?

Also, is there a aperture priority or manual exposure mode? Where to activate them?

[I'm a total n00b]

RAW ?  Wow - considering that I don't even own the camera and had no way to test anything, I'm just happy it even boots on the first try!

It might also need the 'PAUSE_FOR_FILE_COUNTER' value defined in capt_seq.c (see IXUS 310 & SX40HS).
The #define for this was commented out in the 1.00c version.  I assume it also needs some code support in capt_seq.c ?  I''ll look at the other two cameras for ideas.

I also noticed a missing function call in the 1.00c task code.  Need to go back and look at that too.

Almost without fail,  this is the first question asked when somebody uses CHDK for the first time.  You will need to do a little reading on your own.  Here's a few good things to look at :
link> CHDK Wiki Page about RAW
link> CHDK Forum thread on RAW
link> CHDK Wiki Page about Raw Software
link> CHDK Forum Board for RAW
link> How do you fix lens distortion with CHDK RAW files?

Also, is there a aperture priority or manual exposure mode? Where to activate them?
The A800 does not have an aperature.  However,  you an override shutter speed and ISO settings.  Again, you need to do a little research :

HTH!

Thanks for the raw pointers!
Now I can open the raw in irfanview and photivo without any issue, except that the whole image is purple. (reminds me of uni whibal and infrared images). I played around with the demosaicing algorithms in photivo... no go, it's still purple.

I'll read up the raw forum and try dng...

Woot for a 100b version that boots and seems to work decently well :D  Also, interesting that the 100b also has issues with purple pictures.

For those with a 100b, here are a few things to test.

1) In the menu go to RAW Parameters then select "Create badpixel.bin" - this will take some time (maybe a few minutes?) and it will take a few pictures.  When it is done, then (still in the RAW menu) select "Save RAW" and "DNG Format" options.  Now exit out of the menu, take a couple RAW pictures, and put the card in your computer and take a look at them.  I have a suspicion that these .DNG pictures will work and not be purple but we need to check :)

2) Deselect "Save RAW".  Hit the ALT button (the Play button) and then the Function/Set button - this should bring up a Script menu.  Select "Load Script from File..." and start testing the scripts.  (If you look back a few pages in this forum thread you'll see where I've been doing that sort of testing a few different times with various 100c builds.)  In particular, I'm curious what SETMODE.LUA does.

Great job so far waterwingz and a big thank you to the 100b testers :)
