Hi. I am totally a newbie! So please i might have ridiculous questions. Before that i did search a lot a did try a lot of things.

I have a G12 firmware GM1.00G. I've downloaded from http://mighty-hoernsche.de/ the "1.00G   g12-100g-1.0.0-1651-full.zip  (712KB)". I did everything as the readme.txt says. Many times. I even tried different SDcards and different CHDK versions. Now i'm using this version with an 1GB SDcard.
The problem is that there's no "Firm Update" in the menu. I've tried what readme.txt says "try pressing your Playback button twice" and of course while i'm in the playback mode, this causes the camera to turn off and on again. I'm getting confused.

The reason i would like to use CHDK is because i would like to do some timelapse and also i need the longer exposure time.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

Are you using the rear 'playback' button to start the camera - the 'Firm Update' menu option will only appear if you start the camera with this button and go straight into the Canon menu.

If you happen to be using a Mac, see http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ/Mac#Still_Having_Trouble.3F

It worked! The problem was that my mac was unarchiving the zip file automatically with "archive utility" and i had to use unrar or the unarchiver.

Thanks a lot!!
