There are several guinea pigs with cameras who would be willing to help.
I have two.
Do you have any testing ideas that a guinea pig could help with?

I do not have this camera either, that makes it very difficult.

What tests would you do if you had a camera ?

I can see firmware function 'GetSwitchStatus' ... can that be used to solve this problem ?

i have the tx1 as well, what can i do to help? i think i am running a different firmware though, 1.00g

Well, it would be useful to get a dump of that as well.

When Cybercom sees your post, he will be able to tell you how to dump the firmware.

actually i already did the dump with udumper following his instructions, was going to have a go at porting but haven't really got around to it yet.

Firmware dump of Powershot TX-1, version 1.00g
SubCPU ver 1.02
Adj.Ver.021.001
IS Firmware Ver. 1.13
IS Param Ver. 1.11

file name: tx1_100g.zip

It would be great to get feedback from multiple owners especially if they are in different time zones. One problem for David right now is that I'm six hours earlier than him so he's awake while I'm still sleeping and he's going to bed while I'm finishing dinner. If we could each do some testing during the best hours for him, we might make much better headway.

I am located in Sydney, Australia, so sitting on GMT +11 at the moment.. going to be GMT +10 next week when daylight savings finishes. I got a sporadic sleeping pattern, but happy to do testing (or coding, i have some background in C/C++)!
