Motion detect fire flash

Hi all
With Lua script, I am looking to just fire flash when motion detect without taking a picture.
The reason here is I wanted it to react quickly to the next motion and just flash to trigger a DSRL to take a picture.
Camera I am using is sx30, g12,d10

keeping in mind that playing around with flash with eventprocs could be unsafe for the health of the camera. Also, names and functionality of the eventprocs on those threads could be very different from the sx30.
