How to save power in s95 camera using script?

I am using the timelapse script 'daylapse'. With this script I can take photo in a very long period of time.
My origin plan is to take photo every 12 hours.

So I tune on the power save mode in the original camera setting in s95.With the original setting , I can turn off LCD in 20 seconds. Here is my problem, my s95 only late around 4 hours then the battery die.(out of energy)

Is there any way that can save more power let my camera can last about 1 week?

I know the AC adapter can let my camera to hold for such long period of time, but I still need a way to let the camera to hold for 1 week without extra power supply.

Turning off the LCD does not save much power, you need to turn off the sensor.
Even then, it is not going to last one week.

You can plug your AC adapter into one of these :-

Ebay # 120867614459 (which I have just bought ) or 280704214668 (for 110V AC).

The second one is easier to modify, you cut the lead and connect to sealed lead-acid battery :-

Ebay # 120763733719

Incidentally, at one photo every twelve hours , one week will playback in 0.5 seconds.

A far more efficient way to save power is to turn the camera on every 12 hours.

You use a radio-control servo to press the shutter button :-

You need someone to make a circuit that sends suitable pulse widths to the servo every twelve hours.
On power-up, a script is run that zooms to required setting, takes a photo and then shuts down.

Quite simply, there is no problem getting this working but it does entail some effort and expense.

Well, I am not familiar with electronics. The circuit for me is a bit hard.According to the second method, the robot arms can push the button automatically. However the timing is a problem, the circuit must tigger once....If I use clock alarm as timer....
