SX240 HS Porting Thread

Hello everyone.
I did was check and dump the firmware from my new SX240 HS using Canon Basic instructions.

Here's the firmware info:

Adj Ver.005.011

Dumped firmware DryOS firmware address is FF000000

Firmware Size: 16 MB

Please let me know if there is a more appropriate place to host this dump than my personal Dropbox.

I've never done a CHDK port before can you help me !

Perfect !

At some point in the next day or two, CHDK user fe50 will grab your download and add it to the CHDK repository on box.com. He usually posts a note to that effect so you can delete your archive at that point if you so desire.

Good work.

This is a dryos R50 camera, like the sx260, so you might want to keep an eye on that thread http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=7889.0

Like sx260, it does the new weirdness of copying code (dryos kernel, I think) to 0x685000 at startup.

Hi all!
Is there an alpha or beta chdk available for the 1.00A version?
I am looking the SX260 porting thread but chdk seems available only for 1.00B ans 1.00C firmware version...
Hope someone will port it soon...

Did you try using the 1.00B version ? Sometimes a port for a particular firmware version works with versions close to it.

If you are asking about the sx240, then there is no build for it. CHDK for another model will never work. Canon firmware versions are per-model, 100a on the sx240 would not have any special relationship to 100a on the sx260

If you are asking about sx260, then you should post in the sx260 threads.
