I'm taking the blind port of sx240 100a as a port of a new firmware version for sx260hs. That could works... maybe not.

The source code is available in this svn repo.
See notes.txt to check porting progress.

A first (ambitious) try, is in attachment. booting process is ported, It's expected to see CHDK logo.  Calls to others tasks (capt_seq_task, JogDial_task_my, etc) are disabled.  If boot does not work, we'll have to test boot step by step.

Hello,
thank you so much for helping us.
I tried this version, it can boot only if i lock the SD card but when i change to photo mode then the camera doesnt let me take any photo or video, then i can't change settings of the CHDK. I have the informations on the screen but i dont know how to activate the chdk menu.

thank you again

Hi, thanks for report. CHDK will boot only using a locked SD-CARD. The sx240hs-100a-1.2.0-boot-r0.zip was only for test CHDK boot, other functions are disabled, even keyboard, so you can't access CHDK menu.

If you saw CHDK logo and you can see CHDK info, we can continue with the next step.

When you turn on the camera in preview mode and wait a few second it loads the chdk automatical. Lock SD card.

I did this

1. Format card (low level) in camera
2. Put card in card reader and extract the downloaded zip to card
3. Put the card in cam, press play, says no image and no option to update in menu

Next
Repeated steps 1 & 2
Locked the card and put in camera
says no image and memory card locked is displayed for a second. Nothing happens

What am I missing?

Did you read through this ?  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Prepare_your_SD_card

You really need to understand what is written there. In this case,  you need to prepare the SD card specially for "SD card lock" booting.
