Hi,

I do not have the knowledge to create a CHDK so I'm asking ...

Is someone working on the cam above? I do own one. If I can support a CHDK developer, let me know.

An ALPHA test version for firmware 1.00f is now available at http://mighty-hoernsche.de/trunk/download_trunk.htm

If anyone with firmware 1.00e wants to volunteer to test that version send me a PM with your email address.

Firmware version 1.00e is now also available on the autobuild server link above.

Hey - I'm new to the wonderful world of CHDK. I just got a Canon G1X but my firmware is 1.00g. From what I've seen, it is not supported yet... I'd be more than happy to help out with testing if anyone's looking for some help.

You could try the 1.00f version.  Frequently a CHDK version will work for more than one firmware version - although not always.

If the 1.00f version, as suggested by waterwingz, does not work then you will need to get a firmware dump from the camera. Upload it to a file sharing site and post the link here.

Thanks guys! I tried making this work for a few hours but it didn't... I've followed everything step by step so I guess the latest CHDK doesn't support 1.00g. I'll see if I can do a firmware dump over the weekend and hopefully someone can help with hacking it.

The main reason why I want to use it is for timelapse photography. Do you guys know if it fixes the issue where the camera defaults back to autofocus once the LCD screen is shut? Also, if anyone's used it for timelapse, what's the fastest constant shot interval you were able to get?

If you set it up correctly and tried to boot an incompatible version, the camera will most likely crash very early in the startup process, so it appears not to start at all. The screen won't turn on, maybe some led will flicker but probably not. In this case, the battery usually needs to be removed before you can boot again.

If the camera boots normally but doesn't load CHDK, then you haven't set it up correctly.

Thanks for the reply - it did exactly what you described... wouldn't start so I had to remove the card and battery to boot again.

I'm in the middle of moving houses but will post 1.00g firmware at some point next week... hopefully a kind soul will be able to crack it!

I'm in the same situation... new G1X w/ firmware 1.00g.  Tried both the full and lite versions for f/w rev 1.00f but the camera locks up after selecting f/w update 1.0.0.0 > 1.1.x.x.

I also tried dumping the 1.00g firmware using the instuctions in the chdk wiki, but was never able to get the dumper script to execute.   Leaving for vacation tomorrow, but will probably try again when I have some spare time.
