Hello,

I'm a newbie to the CHDK and I've recently purchased a Canon Powershot Elph 310HS.  I've been trying to find the files relating to this particular camera but the ones I've found I haven't had any success using/getting to work on my camera.  I used the exiftool to find the firmware on my camera and then downloaded ixus230_elph310hs-100b-1.0.0-1798-full_ALPHA and unzipped it on my SD card.  I thought I was all set, but when I press the play button a CHDK message flashes and then disappears again.  Has anyone else experienced this and have any solutions?

Sounds like everything is OK then ... just short press the video button to make "<ALT>"  appear @ center bottom.
Then press Menu to get into the CHDK menu.

Hmmm, by the video button, do you mean the video record button or the playback button?  I can't get the <alt> to come up either way.  In a correction to my earlier post, the CHDK message pops up briefly when I update the firmware from 1.0.0.0 to 1.1.0.0 in the menu screen.  After that, I'm lost...

Yes, video record ... just tested with the latest release (1803) :
- started camera with 'firm update' method: CHDK splash screen shows ~ 1-2 sec
- short press on red video record button:  <Alt> appears
- Menu button then takes me into the  CHDK menu

Do you have a link to the 1803 file you referred to?  I'll check to make sure I have the latest release.

Got it from the release Autobuild server, which always has the latest version.

Most svn changes are very minor and typically may not affect your camera or the features you use at all.  Except when they do.
