I'm brand new to CHDK, first time loading it 2 days ago (s95). It works great, but I'm still getting used to it. Thanks to everyone with CHDK, the continuous script and STICK (which I definitely couldn't have installed CHDK without it).
STICK has become one of the best things to happen to CHDK in the last couple of years. Full credit (respect) to david mitchell for that !
Thanks for the scripts! not sure who wrote them but I just loaded the lua #4 script on an old S95 and it works perfect.
I am using the "ExtendedVideo" LUA script. If I pause with <ALT> to access the zoom will this effect any of the timing?
Well, there is no lua #4 script on that wiki page. But assuming you are using the one labelled "script 3" then here are some comments.
If you are able to press the <ALT> key and get out of CHDK ALT mode while the script is running so that the zoom lever on your camera works then be aware that you are in unknown territory. It might work - it might not. No guarantees.
But to answer your specific question, the script timing won't care what mode you are in. It will do whatever it was going to do regardless of what mode you've escaped into.
One possible (easy) upgrade to the script would be to monitor the zoom lever status from within the script and move the zoom in response. I'm pretty sure the script author ( msl ) could change things to do that if he thought there was a need.
Are there any parameters that need or should be adjusted in the script. It seems to work like "as-is" does it sense the video size/time limits for each camera?
The script just uses what ever time limit you set in the script parameters using the CHDK Script menu. There really are not any other parameters to set.
