any news on the big endian support topic?  :)

so far i always have to find a pc somewhere to convert
my chdk raws for using them on the mac ...

image13, still no news. I worked a hard with my primary employment last time so I even didn't think about dng4ps2 and big endian support

i can understand that: hacking for food is more important
than hacking for fun ... it would be nice if you can keep the
big endian stuff in mind whenever you have some time
again - as always: just let me know whenever there is
anything to test for me

just a small question, cant you just boot ubuntu and use the linux build? that would be better than searching for a pc, right?
on the other hand, i dont know mac too much, maybe it cant even run ubuntu...

PhyrePhoX: Problem is image13 is using PowerPC based hardware, which by default is big endian. AFAIK all Linuxen (such as Ubuntu) on PowerPC run in big endian mode, even though the PowerPC (except for the G5/970) also supports little endian operation. So... the endianness issues remain. One could of course run Windows or Linux in full emulation on PowerPC macs using Virtual PC or similar products, but that is slow and painful...

I just wish to chime in to say that I am following this thread with great interest, being on a PowerPC Mac myself. I really hope this project comes to fruition because it would really make my life much easier.

And a big thank you to all the people involved!  :)

image13, some question: does dcraw decode DNG file from mac dng4ps2 correctly? Do you see resulting image?
