Powershot SX30IS ver 1.00J -is there a CHDK?

Powershot SX30IS ver 1.00J -is there a CHDK?

Just bought this camera but seems to have a firmware version that I canoot see an associated CHDK.  How can I get this, or move to a firmware supported. Canon wesite say no firmware updates available to move away from 1.00J

any sugestions?

You are pretty much stuck until somebody does a port for that version or until you port CHDK to that version.  Sorry.

Not A problem as the windows  programme was reporting it as 1.00J, but vers.req showed it as 1.00P. Now got CHDK on the camera, now to work out what it all means... need in depth  guide.

Hi,

Sorry for bumping this topic again, I refrained from starting a duplicate one.

I would like to load CHDK on my Canon SX30IS, when I tried to check the firmware version it gives me attached output.

I checked out on CHDK download site I could not find the CHDK for 100J, can you please help me finding correct firmware version along with the correct camera name (Or is it expected?)

That utility is pretty old and know to have problems.  Try this instead : http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html

Thanks a lot for your help in this, I have got the firmware version as 1.00P, next step is to install CHDK. :)

Not really...to recognize latest released cameras, an updated Exiftool version is required - http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

Agreed.   

However,  if you download the CameraVersion utility from the "latest version" link on the wiki (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CameraVersion) then you get a version of exiftool from January 2010 with no warning (or link) that you might need to update exiftool seperately.   Fixed it.
