32 gig cards are getting much cheaper. Can I use the chdk with a 32 gig card on an SX230? (I don't really care about auto-booting, so as long as firmware update mode works, I'm fine with that.)

I remember there were some issues with size limits on my old SD1100, but I don't know how to tell if there's a limit for the SX230, and the wiki page doesn't say.

Thanks!

I use the chdk on my SX230 and SD1100 cameras, and I installed them using a Macbook, currently running 10.6.8.

The SX230 was released in Feb 2011.   Which means it will boot CHDK from a single partition 32G SD card if it is fomatted as FAT32.    Using the firmware update method will also work.

Get the fastest speed you can too.  I'd rather have a 16G class 10 card than a 32G class 6.

Also, sometimes when the price seems too good to be true, it is.  Lots of reports of counterfeit Chinese knock-off SD cards that don't match the speed rating on the label.   The Benchmark option on Debug menu of CHDK will let you test the read and write speeds if you are curious.

All the standard brands like Sandisk and HP are now selling 32 gig cards on amazon for around $20, and they all seem pretty legit and high rated. I just ordered an HP one that says its Class 10.
