Well I'm no pro at this stuff. My A2300 firmware is not currently supported. it is the 1.00c according to this ACID thing I downloaded of the website. I guess you guys need some sort of dump. but I dont actually know how to actually go about that to get you the information you guys need. I'm glad you guys are finally working on this model though! I've been checking up routinely on this model. If there is a thread i can read on how i can acquire the information you would need to begin development on this firmware please message it to me here and I'll do my best to help you guys out!

The recommended method to obtain the firmware dump is the Canon Basic Script Dumper

To use the script, you need to prepare your SD-Card, so you need to  read this Canon Basic Card Setup

Hello everyone,

i want to thank those who helped porting CHDK to the PowerShot A2300. It is the first time i am using CHDK and i did not encounter any problems. My main use for the camera will be timelapse photography.

You can take a look at my first try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqg-Mu2mOQ4

Searched the general discussion topics and couldn't really find a relevant topic to post this under. If this is not an appropriate thread, please let me know.

A2300 Firmware 100F. Downloaded and installed successfully. Having a little trouble navigating and remembering the controls, but managed to muttle through enough to play with some video settings. Video, motion activation and time delay are my primary interests right now.

Like everyone else, I noticed quality settings over about 85 abort recording almost immediately. Because I was just experimenting I figured I'd play it safe and cut quality down to 50. Now it records for extended periods without shutting down.

However, after enabling optical zoom for video I notice auto focus no longer works. Totally inop. It seems to focus on whatever image I'm pointed at when recording begins and sticks that setting.

Has anyone else toyed with this and tripped on a solution? Perhaps there's a setting I'm overlooking?
