Hi,

My Canon G12 won't boot with the lastest stable (1.0.0) and the lastest version (1.1.0) of CHDK. The firmware is the 100e, is there any way of logging what happens. The camera turns on but suddenly turns off in every mode.

Best regards

Is this your first attempt to load CHDK ?    If so,  are you using the right firmware version.   If  its not your first time,  did you download the right firmare version this time ?

Are you attempting to boot using the "firmware update" method or the "SD card lock boot" method ?

No, is not the first time. I've used previous builds with no problem. Yes I'am using the right version, I've checked it with Acid.
I'm using the "SD card lock boot" method, which is the only supported in G12.

Thanks - that helps to better understand your situation. Do you have an older version to try - just to make sure nothing else has changed ?

Very strange - there should not have been any changes recently that would cause this.

You could try deleting (or renaming) the CHDK config files,  CHDK/CCHDK.CFG and CHDK/CCHDK2.CFG and see if that helps.

Phil.
CHDK ports:
  sx30is (1.00c, 1.00h, 1.00l, 1.00n & 1.00p)
  g12 (1.00c, 1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  sx130is (1.01d & 1.01f)
  ixus310hs (1.00a & 1.01a)
  sx40hs (1.00d, 1.00g & 1.00i)
  g1x (1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  g5x (1.00c, 1.01a, 1.01b)
  g7x2 (1.01a, 1.01b, 1.10b)

Thanks. I can't find these files... I'm trying a new installation, could it be any problem in the camera?

One strange thing in the camera is that I have a photo of my own in the starup images, I think that it overwrite the 3rd built in image, and it was when the problems started and I update CHDK.

Ok, if it's a new install these files won't be present yet.

Have you tried starting without CHDK and resetting the startup image back to the default?
