After using CHDK on a ixus70 for a long while, I tried to put chdk on my powershot sx120is. There's only one version (the wright one for my model), but when I try to "udate firmware" my camera goes off and won't update.

Anybody an idea how to fix the update?

I tried to prepare de sd-card manualy, by cardtrick and so, but nothing works.

How do you know its the right one for your model ?  If you haven't done so,  I'd reccomend checking your firmware version with this :  http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html
Having the wrong firmware version will cause the camera to shutdown exactly as you described.

If it is in fact correct,  you could try the "SD card lock" boot method - described here :

If I remember correctly the firm update method doesn't work for the SX120.

If this is correct, we should disable the FI2 for this build.

Can any other sx120 users confirm ?
Don't forget what the H stands for.

This one combined with eoscard.exe worked for me. Thanks you all.

FI2 works fine on the SX120, but you must press the Shutter or Play buttons soon after the screen goes black. Otherwise the camera just goes to sleep.

See the last couple of pages in this thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=4284.555

This solution corresponds not to the standard behavior and requires a note in platform/note.txt.
