can't get CHDK to work on my new S100

I followed all the steps multiple times, but it just doesn't work.
Making the SD card bootible with this EOS program works fine, identifying the right version works fine (101b), finding/downloading/copying flies works but CHDK won't start.

What other options do I have? Thanx!

Did you put the SD card lock switch into the "locked" position ?

If so,  what happened ?

Yes, the card is locked. I tried 3 different cards that I all formatted first.
Starting CHDK by holding the on/off button or using the play button doesn't work here, nothing happens.

However, when I identified my camera it said 'unknown camera' and next to it the 101b version.

Thanx!

To make things clear: To start CHDK when the camera is off, just press the play button, the camera starts en by holding the play button CHDK should start?

Your report is not quite helpful. What happens when the camera is turned on?

- nothing, will remain off?
- camera behaves as usual without CHDK?
- camera starts and displays a message or a splash screen?
- camera crashs?

Great, thanx for answering.

The camera starts up normally, everything works as it should, just no CHDK.
A message appears telling me that the SD card is write protected. I checked it the language should be English to get it to work, but that doesn't work either.

This means that you have not successfully formatted the card to be bootable or the DISKBOOT.BIN file is not in the root directory of the SD card.

What format is the card ?  Fat16 ? Fat32 ? exFAT ?  The method of making the card bootable depends on whether its FAT16 or FAT32.  And exFAT format will not boot at all.

The diskboot.bin is on the root of the card, the card was FAT32 formatted by the canon s100.
I used EOScard 1.2 to make it bootable, it said succesful, but that maybe where the fault is...

I checked if the card was bootable, using the HxD GUI method. The card is bootable.
