What firmware version is this dump from? I've been looking around in the files, but I can't seem to find anything meaningful about the version (though I guess it would be too optimistic to find something with vi..)

Just another bump for this one.  I'm perfectly willing to donate some scratch (10bux maybe?) to the person who donates their time to get this one at least into alpha stage.  I'm not huge with C, disassembly, or free time, but I'll gladly test!

Ditto, a buddy got me looking into CHDK for my Canon but mine's an SD900.  The raw image feature really caught my attention.  Let me know if there's anything I can do to help (I know C for the most part, but I'm not really up on firmware or systems programming...)
