issues with G12

i have a A620 with chdk and it works fine.
my G12 with 1.0g firmware and 1.0.0-1994 though is having issues.

I am using the Ultra Intervalometer 2 to do time lapse of driving.
if I set both cameras to Tv 1/500 the A620 stays on 1/500, but the G12 changes during the shots from 1/125 to 1/250.
any ideas why when setting Tv the shutter speed is not locked?
both cameras have Extra Photo Op>Disable Overrides Disabled

also, not sure if this is a bug or not, but on the G12, if I press display to show the electronic level and try to access the chdk menus the menus will only show the right 1/3 so you only see arrows. anyone else have this issue?  need pictures?

also, when I set the G12 to manual focus I get the red text in the upper left "SD:258065 FACTOR:OFF"
the number and focus change when moving the zoom button.  not totally sure how it works.
what does SD stand for in this instances?   does the red mean something like error?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

Hello & welcome !

Did you enable any CHDK override, e.g. AutoISO ?
Set "Disable Overrides" to ON to disable ALL CHDK overrides.

Are both cameras setup with the same settings (mode, iso) ? There may be some Canon feature like iContrast wich could show such side effects...

what does "electronic level" mean - histogram, zebra ?
a picture would be helpful...

You've enabled the CHDK SD (=Subject Distance) override in the "Extra Photo Operations" menu ;)

thanks for the response.

all overriders are off. i-Contrast on the G12 is a post processing feature in play mode.  DR Correction is Off.
maybe I can use Override Shutter Speed to lock the camera to one number?
seems like it should lock the shutter speed in Tv mode though.

"what does "electronic level" mean - histogram, zebra ?"

the G12 has an electronic level just like the one the 60D has.
the level allows you to know the camera is level with the ground.
attached is a picture with a red arrow pointing to the electronic level and grid.
the grid and level are activated by pressing the DISP. button.
then activating chdk and you see that the chdk menu is partially covered.
is this a bug?

"You've enabled the CHDK SD (=Subject Distance) override in the "Extra Photo Operations" menu"

but I haven't enabled the SD Override.  Just Manual Focus.  No matter how I focus, at 10 or infinity, it shows SD:258008 in red on the upper left.  even with NO OVERRIDES showing in the upper left it still shows SD:258008 FACTOR: Off.  any ideas?
