Manual focus (ISO, etc) for dummies?

I've been reading the manuals, and searching posts & Wiki, but can't figure out how to get CHDK to do manual focus (or setting of other properties). No matter what I try, Canon's stupid autofocus always seems to be active, and will never focus on what I want to photograph. Is there a simple guide on how to do this?

Hi

What have you got "Disable Overrides" in the "Extra Photo Operations" menu set to? If it's not set to "Disabled" try setting it to that. When you have overrides set they should appear in red on the screen - if it says "NO OVERRIDES" then overrides are disabled.

Also, if your camera has its own "Manual Focus" mode then that needs to be enabled before focus overrides will work.

Otherwise, maybe if you are in full auto or easy mode try switching to program mode instead.

Oops! Sorry about that. I know I went into the profile and changed stuff so my camera version &c would show up automatically. Guess I messed it up somehow. Anyway, it's ELPH 100HS/IXUS 115HS. CHDK is ixus115_elph100hs-101c-1.1.0_2023_Beta.

I'll try the above suggestions and get back...
