I have not test it, because it seem not often used in that way and i understand not how chdk build work and the IX1000 Port does not work.so i dont want experiment.luckily gcc 3.4.6 give lot speedup.

I know when gcc3 and gcc 4 give diffrent compile speed, this is due to optimizer.when optimizer is switch off in a compile both get too lots faster and compile at near same speed.

maybe you can add a gmake option that the optimizer is switch off (-O0 as far i know) ?.or is it important on development that the compile is at fastest speed ?

In make default way, make do not detect when a .h file is change and so forget to compile all files that use that header.there need a option so make create dependendy files.But i am not familar with make.i see only in some sources, there is a dir dep create and there come for each .c file a .d file which contain all .h files the .c file use.

CHDK-Shell-v279 (update version)

  • added:    Visual feedback for profiling on (red "P") and Debug checkbox activated (red "d")

  • added:    "3D" option for timer bar in miniGUI (in 'GUI..' dialog)

  • removed: CHDK Menu Preferences (in Source Code Tools) - not really useful anymore since
                    CCHDK.CFG is backwards compatible. If anybody wants it back, let me know ...

  • fixed:      Compiler preference for GCC3 was saved, but not restored properly (thanks, Bernd K)

  • fixed:      Program (CHDK-Shell-v279.exe) now no longer UPX compressed, this makes VirusTotal
                    happy: 0/43 when scanning the SFX archive, CHDK-Shell-v279-sfx.exe
                    checksums are:
                    CRC-32:   48935CCC
                    MD5:      A4F4BC31FD8D35A1B745630C4A36E67C
                    SHA1:     15C8FF7E9FB4D047B5255AC19286AC5B265AB40B
                    (I use FileAlyzer to check offline)

CHDK-Shell-v280 (update version)

  • fixed:      'Screen Snap' bug when miniGUI was moved off screen @ top of screen

  • fixed:      objdump formatting (had ugly mix of DOS & Unix end-of-lines)

  • added:    button for SVN site swapping from miniGUI

  • added:    to logfiles: compile batch execution time

  • changed: minimum allowed "Timer Granularity" now 3 sec (in 'Debug ..' menu)

  • Security: Clean according to VirusTotal. Checksums for CHDK-Shell-v280-sfx.exe
                    CRC-32: F9F4593B
                    MD5:     C2D3C934D0097DFCD03989FA8CFDC28D
                    SHA1:   18939644C3E325D25D8A4360C4E2568C3FC44BC3

  • Note 1: Due to the closing down of drop.io, this file is now on a server with a 4 MB file size limit,
                so there's no new full version ATM. Old full version was accidentally erased, but here
                is fe50's backup Full Version 2.70
                Separate GCC devkits can still be downloaded from gcc_for_chdkshell drop

  • Note 2: Automatic update is broken, you will have to use the link here or on the Wiki

Don't we all love Web 2.0  ::)

Just info:

drop.io will erase all files on dec 15. It says: "Please download your data as soon as you can, but definitely before Dec. 15." http://drop.io/future.htm

savedonthe.net (i think) does maintain the files "as long as people are interested in it (at least 15 days after last download)" by default. (see http://savedonthe.net/upload-file.php -> advanced options).

Just i dont wanna lose all this excelent work that you have done!  :D

@Kbre

Don't worry - I've got everything triple backed up on nice (as in: non cloud dependant) media ...
[edit] as for CHDK-Shell 2.80, it'll be on saved.net for 90 days from yesterday, which should
give me enough time to find a new home for it

@fe50

Nice one, it seems I can download without it messing with my system too much ...
What's the deal on uploads ? I'm a bit suspicious of the big Flash ad, is it required
to upload ?

cheers,

wim

Uploading is more comfortable than on drop.io, you can use the upload assistant, a java upload mechanism (multi file uploader), or just drag files into the browser window (similar to the drop.io FF plugin). You can drag the files directly into a sub folder, you can add (drag) multiple / additional files, also while an upload is in process.

The box.net account is one of my running test platforms, looks very good until now; uploads are fast & easy, features are very good for a free hoster, 2GByte space should be enough for some more days...
I'll upload more files (e.g. the full shell package) the next days...

*Edit: The CHDK-Shell 2.70 full version & the gcc-env-only packages are 'in the box' now, too :D

Is it possible that chdk shell save automatic the files to a specified drive letter ?

for example i have my SD card as drive K, and when chdk is finish with compile, i need copy the files by hand.

maybe can tell chdk that the files are automatic copy to SD card root directory ?

its not usefull when build all, but for develop for 1 camera it save time each build
