Maybe there should be a possibility of selecting the code page, now remains Win 1251 for all languages, as specified in conf.c

CHDK-Shell-v339 (update version)

  • fixed:     In the course of a database update at assembla.com the base path
name for the CHDK repository was changed, causing the site to be
unavailable from the POV of CHDK-Shell.
  • fixed:     Warning dialog on failure to connect to SVN site should now
only appear once for each offline period.
  • removed:'Import SDM' in 'Branches ..' (introduced in v. 3.20). I somehow
missed that since rev. 736 (4 months ago !) SDM source is included
as a branch in CHDKDE SVN ...
  • Security: Clean according to Jotti AND VirusTotal, except 1 false report:
                  Antiy-AVL 2.0.3.7 calls it:   "Trojan/win32.agent.gen"
                  Checksums (FileAlyzer) are:
                  CHDK-Shell-v339-sfx.exe
                  CRC-32:  B74E4336
                  MD5:      D791D39475F77D12A48EFC843F85DD53
                  SHA1:     2D54DB343753962BA1E6D72B75C6C9E85AD905B7
                  CHDK-Shell_Updater.7z
                  CRC-32:  0136FF15
                  MD5:      129F9449CB0A5F7F6DF618B00D3D807D
                  SHA1:     A8608B2D69E1E52D5460CF2F41DCF5F638823284

cheers,

[ Have 7z & a recent*) version ? Save bandwidth, use CHDK-Shell-updater.7z  ]

*) recent = same minor version, so currently 3.3.0 and higher

Looks like they fixed that - v3.38 works again.

Did you think about my request to make "alpha" versions buildable ?  The IXUS1000_SD4500 still does not show up.

Did you think about my request to make "alpha" versions buildable ?  The IXUS1000_SD4500 still does not show up.

According to camera_list.csv (1421) it is BETA, not ALPHA. But that's beside the point, I did forget !
However, there is a problem: if I make it ignore SKIP_AUTOBUILD it will barf on the other cameras
that have SKIP_AUTOBUILD cause they have no platform_camera.h (ixusW_sd430 and s80)
In order to cure that, a major code reshuffle would be necessary - unless, as a hack, I add an
empty platform_camera.h (note: needs 2 linefeeds minimum)

I'm attaching a modified CHDK-Shell-v339.exe (you can tell it's a mod because properties will
show it to be "3.3.9.1" and not "3.3.9.0") which you can use as a drop-in replacement for the
existing exe - I'm to lazy for another release ATM, sorry.

cheers,

wim

edit: Would still appreciate it if the s80 and ixusW_sd430 'code corpses' were updated a bit ... They are
not even marked ALPHA or BETA, which could fool people into believing they are mature ports ...

I think Alpha status was added because of discussion about that particular port - it must have slipped through prior to making a decision to support alpha releases.

I would only take me 5 minutes to submit a patch adding platform_camera.h for those camera ... are there others ?

But I get the point - you want the "Select all ..." options to run to completion.  I never do that - obviously not a lot of use for personal development.  One choice would be to have "Select all .." only pick up released versions ( not alpha or disabled ?)

I just want all the cams that show up in a vanilla trunk to at least compile.
Note that both s80 and ixusW-sd430 eventually abort compilation (1422) without producing binaries ...

And BTW, it is not the ALPHA or BETA status that kept ixus1000 from showing up , but the SKIP_AUTOBUILD flag - which is now also ignored.

Hi,
Just updated from 306.  Did this by updating to 330 full then 339, just in case.  Get "ptpCamGiu_Obfuscated.au3 not found message each time I run it.  Can't run 330: get an error in line 3693:array variable badly formatted.
339 works, I was able to compile an old trunk of mine just fine, but the message is annoying.

@hiker_jon

This is caused by 2 'major upheavals':

1. The hosting site's base path to the CHDK repositories (CHDK/CHDK-DE) was changed (2-3 weeks ago)
2. The CHDK Makefile system was radically overhauled (about 2 months & 100 revisions ago)

So, as soon as '330 downloads/gets to 'see' a revision that contains any of these changes, it will fail.

I suppose the "ptpCamGui_Obfuscated.au3 not found" is a side effect of this ...

The quickest and safest way to fix:

1. rename
{directory-where-you- installed-CHDK-Shell}\CHDK-Shell\guest\ptpCamGui     to

{directory-where-you- installed-CHDK-Shell}\CHDK-Shell\guest\ptpCamGui_bak

2. restart CHDK-Shell  --> a new ....\ptpCamGui directory will be created, and the necessary files
    will be downloaded into it.

3. start ptpCamGui

Keep in mind that you and/or ptpCamGui might have saved stuff (ptpCamGui settings, DL'ed pics, ...)
to the now renamed directory; be sure to check and copy as needed.

please let me know if that works for you,

wim

Hi Whim,
Thanks.  It works as far as the ptpCamGui message.  But now it (339) refuses to acknowledge that it has already downloaded 1456.  Each time I start it up it downloads it again.

OK, I've seen that before (see post #580 in this thread), easily fixed:

- exit program if running
- open 'CHDK-shell-v339.ini' in a text editor
- under [Trunk] you will find 2 entries (note: depending on use either could be missing/have other values)

    maxsearch0=1441
    maxsearch1=912

- delete them, close editor
- start program
